Great design in DC
I traveled down to Washington, DC this weekend for a full a fun filled weekend of great friends, great food, excellent desserts, a phenomenal hip hop yoga class with my favorite meditation teacher and to finish off the weekend, an early morning 5K run around Haines Point. My mind, body and heart are still smiling after spending 72 hours with such great friends.
Driving around DC, I found myself constantly inspired by all of the stores, restaurants and food around me. Take a look…
Passing by the Smithsonian Institute I noticed the colorful banners. Not only do I love the color scheme, without every having seen this color scheme before I have used in on a clients website. I think the beautiful blue and yellow work really well together and the color scheme went perfect with the weather that day.
I love cupcakes and now, luckily for me and all cupcake lovers around the world, cupcakeries are popping up all over the place! After dining at Matchbox we strolled over to Hello Cupcake in South Capitol Washington, DC. There we ordered a lemon cupcake, carrot cake cupcake, dulche de leche with caramel on top, and a banana cupcake. The lemon, carrot cake and banana were outstanding!
On Sunday morning after running my first 5K we grabbed breakfast at one of our favorite places “La Madeline” in Georgetown. And to my surprise, Sprinkles Cupcakes, a winner from the cupcake bake off on the Food Network, was right across the street! We went inside and aside from the beautiful store, the cupcake display and taste was absolutely to die for! Since I had just run a 5K, I was modest with my purchase. I got a carrot cake and a cinnamon sugar cupcake. By the best Ive had to date. I will definitely be back!
