Its calendar shopping time again! My favorite? Calendars that not just your typical calendars but rather creative calendars that provide both function for the everyday as well as design for the creative eye. I found a couple that combine the two things that I enjoy the most, typography and creative design. (1) 2012 Snow & Graham Calendars. Orange Chocolate Cupcakes

While doing my regular pinning (interest) and pursuing the net I came across the cutest site by Allyson Baker! I love her designs and the cupcakes! I love everything about these images, the parchment paper used instead of cupcake papers, and the flags in each of the cupcakes are so cute. I love the color scheme, (which matches the orange chocolate flavors in the cupcakes). I also like how she used the typography in the flags. I like using different fonts in one design as well. Very nice!

I love striped paper straws. Have some fun going retro with vintage inspired striped paper straw collections in cute whimsical colors in dots and stripes. They’re are eco friendly and biodegradeable. As I browsed the internet this weekend I came across several images that were just too cute to pass up. Enjoy! Adidas Unity

So my obsession started out with me being in the gym on the treadmill while watching a soccer game. The more I watched, the more I noticed the font on team Germany’s jerseys. So my time spent, went from a leisurely walk on the treadmill to a mad dash through the internet searching for the “germany, soccer team, font”. And after many websites, keywords and wrong fonts later, I finally found the right font… Adidas Unity, and I love it. I love it for it’s lean, clean, and long lines with soft corners and sophisticated feel.

Little Chef Identity Design

I came across the identity design of a brand called Little Chef (created by VentureThree) . Three things define their identity and branding, a vibrant color scheme, their use of typography and the simplicity in their layouts. My favorite pieces are their (1) trays, (2) package design, (3) breakfast menus, (4) sit down menus, and (5) lollipops . I love the breakfast menu for the simple font, simple layout and vibrant colors! And I love the sit down menu because of the simplicity in the whole design. Using a very simple color scheme, simple layout and simple fonts, they were able to turn this complex menu into an easy to read, easy to navigate menu. No need to complicate such smart design with images, the art is in the typography itself! I love it.

Chalkboard Art

Ever walk past a restaurant or into a grocery store and see creatively decorated Chalkboards? I love using chalkboards as a design element in your home, whether it be for use in the kitchen, office or the kids room. But taking the ordinary chalkboard and elevating its functionality from a basic menu to a trendy design piece was genius… After surfing the net this morning looking for some really cool chalkboard art, I found Dana Tanamachi…pretty cool.

Its Monday and Ive been trying to find some Monday morning inspiration. I had been searching for hours before finally finding IT. Its simple, yet beautifully classic with a mixture of light and heavy, sans and serif fonts in typset lettering. I love it. Many thanks to Lotta Agaton for todays inspiration…

Workspace Series: Light

I have a fascination for workspaces. I love to see how people decorate their workspace, the different elements that they incorporate, and most importantly where they place their desk. I know that sounds kind of strange, but some people position their desk facing a wall, I cant work like that. I prefer facing an open room, with plenty of natural light, a book shelf with my coveted design books near by, plenty of white or light walls and splashes of color combined with small design elements, wall art and plenty of organizing containers to hold all of my small items.
