So my time spent, went from a leisurely walk on the treadmill to a mad dash through the internet searching for the “germany, soccer team, font”. And after many websites, keywords and wrong fonts later, I finally found the right font… Adidas Unity, and I love it. I love it for it’s lean, clean, and long lines with soft corners and sophisticated feel.

The imagery catches your eye and conveys emotion and experience while the font choice helps maintain consistency with the images and content of the project. I like St Marie for this project, it reminds me of a lighter, more airy, but professional version of courier new.

I think that the presence of a script font should be felt, by that I mean, use it with purpose. Dont use a great script font in your navigation, your logo, and in your headers. Its loses its intensity.  When used correctly and sparingly these fonts really help to make a bold and beautiful statement…

I determine what font weights I will use based on the content of the message.

Make it a font that is going to help communicate your message. From time to time I will feature fonts that I like to use on projects or just like to have fun with. LOT is one of those fonts for me.

I like using this font for websites that are more on the playful side.  And yes it looks great with such sharply contrasting colors as black and white, but it also looks great with a more playful primary color scheme. Try mixing it with fun vectors or high saturated imagery. Sites that I think this font are good for would be: skate boarding website, an urban youth based website, or maybe an e-commerce website for caps or tees.
